“Olympic Sleeper” by Brief Candles

Background:

Milwaukee shoegaze stalwarts Brief Candles asked me if I could make a music video for them. The only caveats were they didn’t want to be in it and they had no budget. I got them to agree to be in one shot at the beginning and the end of the video, the rest would be shot in darkness. I grabbed an old glitchy miniDV camera. Each band member wore light-up bracelets and finger-lights bought from a dollar store. The rest was just take-upon-take and lots of layering to build a video that had all the texture and energy of the song.
